Timber Insect Infestation | Tips & Tricks

A timber infestation in wooden furniture and fittings is very easy to spot. You will start to notice a lot of small holes on the surface of the wood, and you might even spot small insects crawling in and out of them. This kind of infestation occurs when the larvae and grubs of some insects are planted under the surface of the wood.

If the insect infestation is significant, then the huge number of holes could make the wooden item very fragile and susceptible to damage. Thankfully, there are some things you can do to deal with this kind of infestation. Read on to find out more!

Buy A Woodworm Treatment - If you do notice any bugs in the wood around your home, then you should buy a special woodworm treatment. Once this has been applied to the wood, it will kill the infestation.

Keep The Wood Dry - The best way to treat an infestation is to prevent it from happening in the first time. One way to do this is to keep the wood dry at all time. Insects will then find it a lot harder to bore into the hard wood.

Use Electric Fly Traps - If you kill the adult insects, then they won’t be able to lay their eggs in the wood. So, you might want to install some electric fly traps in your home to prevent the insects from getting to that point.

Hopefully, all of these tips and tricks prevent you from suffering from a timber insect infestation!
